Are you looking for an innovative, urban outdoor space for your special event? The Lawn On D Powered by Citizens Bank offers two pavilions for exclusive use for client receptions, company outings, team building events, fitness programs, black-tie dinners, cocktail receptions, fundraisers, and more!
The Pavilion on D is our larger pavilion space and is familiar to many who have previously visited The Lawn On D. Located on the main Lawn, the Pavilion on D is centrally-located, next to Swing Time and all that the Lawn has to offer. The Pavilion on D gives you 4,839 square feet of event space and can host up to 400 people for receptions, 240 for banquets with picnic tables, and 160 for banquets with 66” round tables.
The new Signature Pavilion gives you a private, more intimate, venue option. Featuring its own entrance and separate mini-lawn for games and lounging, this 3,225 sq. ft. area is perfect for receptions for up to 350 people, picnic table banquets for up to 160, and banquets for 144 with 66” round tables. Your event in the Signature Pavilion will also have access to all the amenities of the full Lawn, including complimentary Wi-Fi, furniture, Swing Time, and lawn games, including bocce, cornhole, giant JENGA®, and ping-pong.
Both the Pavilion on D and the Signature Pavilion come equipped with a performance platform, lighting package, and Bose sound system, in addition to a number of other Signature Boston services. Both pavilions and the full Lawn are available to rent throughout our open season, which runs from May 21 through the fall.
Seaport Catering is our private event food & beverage provider for The Lawn On D. They offer innovative menus that contain a wide array of offerings and themes to help you create a truly unique experience for your guests. Beverage selections include a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic (beer, wine, and cocktails) options. Food selections include a la carte concessions, a kids’ menu, cocktail reception menu with passed hors d’oeuvres & stations, raw bar, and special dinner menus in fun summer themes (Summer Cookout, Backyard BBQ, New England Clam Bake, Summer Supper, and a more formal option called Dinner on the Lawn).
One of The Lawn On D’s biggest draws is its Swing Time art display. Swing Time is composed of multiple illuminated, ring-shaped swings, each of which holds an internal LED lighting system, micro-controller and accelerometer that symbiotically create colorful glowing effects generated by the motion and acceleration of the swings.
A first-of-its-kind outdoor interactive space in Boston, The Lawn On D began as an experimental event landscape that brings together different communities, audiences and area residents for innovative programming and events in the epicenter of the Waterfront and South Boston neighborhood.
